Packers claim DL Spencer Waege, place rookie OL Trente Jones on retired list

With a week to go until the start of organized team activities, the Green Bay Packers have made two moves on their 90-man roster. One of the team’s most recent acquisitions is evidently stepping away from football, and the Packers have picked up another player from the waiver wire to replace him on the roster.

The departing player is offensive lineman Trente Jones, who was a member of the initial class of undrafted free agents that the Packers signed following the 2024 NFL Draft. Today, the Packers placed Jones on the reserve/retired list; this means that the team will retain his contract rights for the time being if he returns to football, but that he no longer counts against the 90-man roster.
