AUSTIN, Texas – Abigail Parra broke her own school record in the women's 1500 meters on day one of the Texas Invitational, with a first-place time of 4:24.27.
Parra broke her previous record of 4:25.77, which she set earlier this season at the Bobcat Invitational and she now ranks third in the Sun Belt Conference for the event.
Utitofon Sam was the second Bobcat to place first in an event on day one of the meet. Sam placed first in the women's hammer throw and set a new PR with a mark of 55.
